Tradition meets modernity
Qualified architect Susanne Leson said, “Historical drawings were used to reconstruct this building, which now reflects 90% of the original.”
In future, the building will be used as a parish hall by the Evangelischen Regionalverband Frankfurt, an association of Frankfurt church communities and the city’s deanery. To make the large hall on the ground floor adaptable and able to be used for a wide range of events, spacious built-in areas, including a table-and-chair store and space for hymn and music books among other things, were created in it. Ms Leson said, “The cupboards had to harmonise visually with the mineral plaster and built-in sandstone, so we opted for a very natural decor whose matt finish resembles a real-wood veneer.” Push-to-open fittings give the cupboards an extremely consistent overall look, while special perforations in the material absorb sound and therefore guarantee good acoustics in the domed hall.
Ms Leson added: “Overall, we really enjoy working with Pfleiderer products, and not just because of their great potential in terms of colour and diversity, but also because we often receive very good feedback from our processors. To us, that is just as important a selection criterion as quality and appearance.”
