Naturally sustainable,
Without compromise
Wood is a natural product, and wood-based materials should be in no way inferior to it. To meet this requirement, Pfleiderer uses a targeted wood mix in its production. The selection and composition of this mix takes into account both the use of the product and its subsequent use.

No tree is deliberately felled
No trees are deliberately felled for the production of Pfleiderer panels. Only around 15 % of the wood mix at Pfleiderer consists of wood from the forestry industry, mostly in the form of thinning and broken wood. The remaining 85 % is wood residues and recycled wood - of which 40 % is currently sawmill and industrial residues and 45 % is currently unpolluted recycled wood of the highest quality.

Certified quality
To maintain these high quality criteria, which are based on natural wood, we purchase recycled wood continuously and exclusively from certified specialist companies. In addition, we operate our own central analytics for our wood-based materials. In this way, we avoid a potential concentration of undesirable pollutants in our wood-based panels. With this approach, we are in compliance with the legal requirements and standards, which we even exceed in some cases. This is confirmed by independent product certifications:

Implementing change
We are more determined than ever to make our company even more sustainable and will continue to stand by our commitment. Just as already documented in our ESG Framework "Naturally Sustainable", we will
- Continue to source 100% of wood from forestry operations that can be shown to operate in compliance with FSC and PEFC requirements.
- Increase the share of post-consumer recycled wood to 50 % by 2025 - without compromising product quality!
